Inbound approaches are a meaningful share of remote hires, and they are driven by search, not by personality.
The headline is a search field
"Senior Backend Engineer | PHP, Go, Postgres | Remote, IST" gets found. "Turning coffee into code" does not. Put the job title you want next, not the one you have.
Signal remote availability explicitly
Turn on the open-to-work setting for recruiters only if you are employed. Set remote as your location preference. Put your timezone and overlap window in the first two lines of the summary โ recruiters filter on it constantly.
Trim the skills
Ten skills you could be interviewed on beats fifty you have heard of. Endorsements on irrelevant skills dilute the signal.
Common questions
Should I mark myself as open to work?
If you are employed, use the recruiters-only setting. The public badge is visible to your current employer.
What should my headline say?
The job title you want, two or three core skills, and your remote availability.
