Recorded interviews feel unnatural because they are. A little structure makes them survivable.
Prepare before you start
Read all questions first if the tool allows. Jot three bullets per answer. Have water and a timer visible.
Perform slightly more than feels natural
Without a listener nodding back, normal energy reads as flat on playback. Smile at the start, look at the lens rather than your own image, and slow down about ten per cent.
Do not over-record
By take four, most people sound rehearsed and tired. Take one or two is almost always the best version.
